Having just recently moved to Florida, I’ve been hearing quite the buzz around a new festival hitting the Sunshine State this coming early 2016. Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival has been announced for March 4th-6th 2016, just a few short months away, with a promising line-up and a great cast of behind the scenes operators, to add yet another must to your festival season. Recently announced artists include Robert Plant (yes, of Led Zeppelin) and the Sensational Space Shifters, Mumford & Son, Skrillex, Kendrick Lamar, Bassnectar, Odesza, Miguel, and RL Grime, just to name a few. Many other big name artists announced, to include house, techno, and a smorgasbord of other genres to get your music juices flowing, and even more to be announced soon.
Okeechobee organizers are very excited to announce the Miguel PoWow! With Very Special Guests. Produced by Paul Peck, the creative force behind many iconic Bonnaroo SuperJams, the PoWow! is Okeechobee’s signature tradition of thrilling artist collaborations and special performances.
“With PoWoW!, we’re cooking up an historic concert, the kind where you don’t know who is going to walk out on stage or what will happen next,” says Peck.
“Miguel is a supreme talent and we’re working closely with him to defy and exceed all expectations. The idea is to create a show that we personally want to experience together with fans at Okeechobee. We’re going to invite fans to submit their ideas for PoWow! to us on Facebook and Twitter, and if we use an idea, we’re going to hook up those fans in a cool way.”
Past SuperJams produced by Peck (the creative force behind many iconic Bonnaroo SuperJams) include SuperJam with Skrillex and Friends, Rock & Soul SuperJam with Jim James, Brittany Howard, John Oates, R. Kelly and Billy Idol, the hip-hop SuperJam with RZA, Solange, Schoolboy Q and DJ Jazzy Jeff, Also Derek Trucks SuperJam with Chaka Khan and D’Angelo SuperJam with Questlove.
Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is presented by Soundslinger, LLC, an independent company founded by Steve Sybesma formerly of concert pioneer Sunshine Promotions, Paul Peck formerly of Superfly, and a team of all-star producers who have presented other major festivals and countless concerts around the globe.
