When Oliver Heldens began his HI-LO alias, he started the endeavor on Mad Decent then released his follow-up track in tandem with his own label’s launch then gave fans a free download, and now he is back for a third time under the Spinnin’ Records hand. The stream of outputs have been hard to keep up with, but it has proven that Oliver Heldens is more than serious about this alias and we can’t help love it. His sound under HI-LO is so gritty but refined that it is perfect for either the underground or festival environment.
For his newest edit, Heldens will be releasing his own reinvigoration of Da Hool’s “MHTALP,” which he has christened first with a HI-LO flip. Leaving the original relatively in tact, the Dutch virtuoso blends a bevy of coarse grates, tremoring basslines, and warped chords that are locked into a high-octane pad sequence. For those Heldens die-hards out there, this is the perfect track to practice your shuffling skills too. You can stream it now here and be on the lookout for its release on September 28th via Spinnin’ Records.
