It honestly feels like we’ll never see the end of this winter. Luckily, we can always count on a dose of delicious, dark techno to warm our frigid souls during this time of the year. In volume 16 of “On Tuesdays We Techno,” we’ve got a handful of driving original mixes and one heart-pounding remix we’ve been swooning over long before its recent premiere. On the lineup, you can expect to hear players like Bart Skils, Sidney Charles, ANNA, Loco & Jam, and Brennen Grey. Now, sit back and enjoy your first February spiral — see you on the other side.
Bart Skils – Ocean Drive
Drumcode staple Bart Skils kicks off 2018 for the label with a strong 4-track EP, Bells of the Revolution. While we love the entirety of the EP, we were especially drawn to the alluring vibes of “Ocean Drive.” When listening to the work as a whole, pay close attention “Retrodade.” This mix should be familiar to many as one of Adam Beyer’s go-to tracks throughout 2017, and features the vocal of Rozalla’s “Everybody’s Free.”

Sidney Charles – Unchained
Hamburg-native Sidney Charles Hurricane Vieljans (yes, that’s his real name and, yes, we’re obsessed with it) makes his debut on TRUESOUL with Jack Endlessly. This massive 4-track EP has got tons to offer, especially for those who are partial to the after-hours scene. While the title-track seems to be a favorite of many, there’s something about the pounding hits and melodic groove of “Unchained” that rattled our insides the minute we pressed play.

ANNA – Hidden Beauties
This Brazilian-born, Barcelona-based DJ makes an impressive debut on Kompakt with her latest EP, Speicher 101. It’s booming with raw bass, acid licks, and all the elements needed to make it the perfect club killer. ANNA has said that this release is also a personal milestone, as Kompakt’s records has always been a staple in her sets: “I have so many records from Kompakt, I’ve had them since I started, and even though I played so many different styles through the years, I can safely say that Kompakt has always been in my crate.” Now, listen and love.

Loco & Jam – Modulator
Lloyd Reid and James Peoples, aka Loco & Jam, hold nothing back on their latest powerhouse EP Cluster Flux. Out now on the Mallorca label Tronic Music, this Northern Ireland duo goes full throttle from start to finish, but truly show up in the track “Modulate,” delivering serious chest-shattering beats.

Motorcycle – As The Rush Comes (Brennen Grey Remix)
Last Friday, we had the privilege of premiering the remix of Motorcycle’s “As The Rush Comes.” Brennen Grey has completely reawakened this classic track, illuminating the entrancing vocals of JES on a heightened level, and reminding us how obsessed we are with the original. If you haven’t already, give it a listen, maybe 1, 4, or 10 times over.
