On Tuesdays We Techno, Volume 33: Layton Giordani, Julian Wassermann, Bastian Bux & More

This week, we’ve got a handful of golden techno selects from players sending shock waves through the scene’s atmosphere.

We begin our Tuesday spiral with a howling raw remix of rising Cuban talent Hioll’s “Repetition Pattern” from Coyu. Meant to rattle every bone in your body, the Suara labelhead said his rendition clearly defines his current sound: “deep, dark, stripped, rolling, pulsating techno.” This catapults us into another Suara gem, the new warehouse banger from Bastian Bux, “Indanha.” It’s part of his recently released EP Multiple Realities, oozing with three other techno beauties to indulge in.

Now is when we begin to soar through the universe. Munich-based DJ and producer Julian Wassermann take us on an emotional ride with his stunning new single “Painfully.” In severe contrast to its title, the track boasts a beautiful atmosphere made up of his signature melodic techno. After 7 minutes of bliss, the last leg of our journey kicks off with CJ Jeff. Here, he offers up a dance floor-ready remix of Sonny Fodera & Gene Farri’s massive “We Work It” single that is sure to bring you back to planet earth and moving about before our massive closer.

We end this week with the highly anticipated EP from Layton Giordani, Phase 11. This killer has been rumbling through speakers at shows from the entire Drumcode crew for months now. To help paint a picture — Adam Beyer dropped the opening track “New York to Amsterdam” at his show in Berghain earlier this year, Ida Engberg gave the EP loads of love in Ibiza all summer, and “Body Language” was featured at Gashouder recently over ADE. We couldn’t decide on a favorite track, so we dropped the EP in its entirety below for you to enjoy.
