Blending the line between house and his distinctive style of hard-edged groove, OPIUO is shaking up dancefloors around the world with the release of his latest single, “BotRok.” It opens with a slow synthy build-up, which rises before taking a sharp drop into an edgier, bass house influenced realm. The producer’s skillful sound-design skills and infectious amounts of energy are evident throughout the track, with layers of drums and deep-set vocals percolating throughout the song before being broken down into a hard-hitting bassline that only Opiuo could craft.
The track is our first taste of the New Zealand-based producer’s upcoming EP, “Syzygy 01,” and while we don’t know how to pronounce its name, we do know that we can’t wait for the release.
