Many people have heard about Shawn Sage, AKA Dooby, and his current heartbreaking battle with Stage 4 cancer. His decision to attend Escape Wonderland would change his life; in a different way than he expected. Dooby decided to attend this festival as one of the last festivals he will go to. At the festival he crossed paths with the one and only Lady Casa. Her post about the experience is remarkably beautiful.
In light of this event, select PLUR Warriors from across the country have started oPLURation: Dance for Dooby. This fundraiser is to help Dooby in his devastating situation. As stated on their website,
“oPLURation: Dance for Dooby will raise funds to ensure his life is lead to the fullest, with no financial setbacks.”
This fundraiser is a perfect portrayal of the meaning of PLUR. The love and the genuine humanity our scene is.
