Those of you keeping up with Alex Botwin lately have witnessed a student of the game continuing to transcend the generally accepted norms of production. Paper Diamond isn’t choosing to settle comfortably inside the limits of one sub-genre, rather experimenting with elements of trap, moombah, dubstep, electro, and everything in between to push the the envelope on his own skill set.
I’m just trying to learn and do a bunch of different styles. I’ve always been a multi genre producer, so for me, all these new sounds and ideas that these guys are coming up with is intriguing to me. – Paper Diamond in an interview with Life and Times
I’ve got a lot of respect for an artist who envisions a set full of original sound with ranging bpm’s. While I won’t speculate on any specific reasons for his link up with Mad Decent, I’m sure the fact that Diplo is the full embodiment of dynamic production doesn’t hurt. This bubbly trap track has a ton of character, precise changes in pace, and harmonic post-drop riffs that even your mother would appreciate. Anxiously anticipating Glowfest WVU next weekend.
