I caught Paper Diamond at the Canal Club in Richmond a few months back for what proved to be the most ratchet performance I’ve seen since moving back to the city. He finished the set with my favorite remix of his – ‘Same Old Song‘. I will say that he played his whole set from an iPad which was weird and a bit awkward but nonetheless, it was about the sound, vibe, and energy; None of which were lacking that night.
The Elm & Oak don and Pretty Lights Music member seems to have a knack for good feeling sound that just makes you want to move. With the release of this Wavesight EP, PD showcases more of his dynamic essence in production by twisting up elements of pop, electro, and some crunchy bounce-heavy dub. Take it from me, a Paper Diamond show is the perfect dance party.
