Ça va envoyer du lourd! (It’s going to be lit fam)
It’s not surprising that Echostage is bringing us the Pardon My French Tour featuring DJ Snake, Tchami, Mercer and Malaa all in one night. This venue is known for its diverse selection of artists as well as attracting huge names and even in the midst of festival season starting there is clearly no lag in the ability to book amazing after amazing artists.
Un. This French filled night tops off with Grammy nominated DJ Snake, who, lets be honest if you’ve never heard of DJ Snake you’re clearly living in the dark ages. He graced us with “Turn Down for What,” “Lean on,” with Major Lazer ft. MO and more recent, “Middle” featuring Bipolar Sunshine. He’s worked with Diplo, produced Lady Gaga’s Born This Way album and graces top festival stages. If you need a sense of what its like to see DJ Snake check out this ULTRA recap video.
Deux. Joining Snake, Tchami. Also hailing from France, while no rookie to the DMV area after his appearance at Moonrise 2014, he has quickly grown in the short time since his last visit. His popular track, “Promesses” hit number 2 on the UK Dance charts and has closely worked with artists such as DJ Snake, Diplo, Skrillex, Aluna George and more. And don’t forget about his record label Confession which has been putting out a unique blend of hip hop infused dark house that stands out from all the rest.
Trois. Mercer, picked up by Hardwell with “Welcome to the Jungle” has quickly climbed the ranks with continued releases on notorious Spinnin Records and has joined the ranks with DJ Snake and Tchami. This rising artist most recently brought us a set at ULTRA on the World Wide stage cementing his ability to draw a crowd.
Last but not least, Malaa… Who is Malaa? Rumor has it that DJ Snake, Tchami and Mercer switch off, but of all the unknown alias’s that are currently gracing the electronic music scene Malaa is a favorite. His record “Notorious” quickly rose with over 1.7 million streams on Soundcloud in four short months. Regardless of who he is, if you’re prepared for some heavy hitting bass house then Malaa is enough of a reason alone to attend this tour.
