Totems have become a staples at any festival nowadays. Whether it’s Counterpoint with a totem floating over 20 stories in the air, to every inflatable pool animal lit up and floating in the sky, totems are not only a way to find your friends in a sea of thousands, but also an expression of art. But there have been incidents in the past with some totems being so outrageous, and amazing no doubt, that Pasquale Rotella went on today to social media to let his headliners know that some of the guidelines regarding totems have been updates. He went on to say:
You guys have really stepped your game up and created some amazing festival totems! Below are a few key changes we’ve made to the guidelines.
** Maximum of 10 feet tall
** No solid metal
** Must be made from a lightweight material (eg. foam, PVC, light wood)
** Lightweight material poles must be no thicker than 1 inch in diameter
** collapsible camera telescoping extenders that follow the above guidelines are okay (eg. lightweight, hollow aluminum, polycarbonate)
** Inflatables attached to totems must be deflated upon entryHold those totems up high, Headliners! Our secret owls can’t wait to check out the creative designs you come up with for EDC Vegas!
Think of the new guidelines as a new challenge, not as a hinderance. Now go out there to Goodwill, The Home Depot, your local recycling center… wherever and get those totems made. EDC Las Vegas in 10 days!
