We first heard the Love Philosophy EP a year ago and it struck us so hard that we were a bit in awe. It was the first time some of us had ever really heard music produced this way– smooth, yet full of groove, with a touch of soul. We mingled with the thought that this was one of the most interesting sounds we’ve ever heard. Today, we catch ourselves arguing with the little voice in our head, saying that this EP may have been the catalyst that projected a few of us at RaverRafting into the world of minimal techno, micro house, and lo-fi house. After careful consideration and another chance encounter, we decided to take this EP out of the archives and into this article. Our dear friends, we would like to introduce you to Born to Jam and their Love Philosophy EP.
Born to Jam is made up of 3 Argentinian producers by the likes of Pablo Acenso , Martin Echegaray ,and Juan Deminicis. While fairly unknown, they’ve got skill that’s allowed them to put forth a timeless and jam-worthy set of tracks. Let’s begin with the first track. It immediately brings a fine tune filled with subtle drums, coupled with harmonious high hats. This one’s called “Between the People” and it’s the perfect first track to introduce the EP. Next up we’ve got “Rebel,” transitioning the EP to a more energetic atmosphere. “I Look Up, Cuz That’s Where I’m headed” assures a voice, and soon you’re submerged into a funky kick that’ll leave you stimulated for what’s to come. Throughout the rest of the album, the trio curated a smooth ambiance, changing up the way you hear and experience the different melodies they’ve constructed.
Since putting out the Love Philosophy EP, Born to Jam has gone off the grid unfortunately, but hey: It’s better to have loved and lost, then to never have loved at all! Pick it up, play with it, and feel it, as we did the first time we inched our ear towards the speaker.
