Drippin’ some straight up vibes this week is none other than The Honeydripper’s most recent release All About You EP. Now, this is a “You gotta press play before you continue reading” type of article.
Immediately we’re introduced to a strong groove and some smooth vocals to the tune of “I feel so high”. Drums, high hats, and a nice bass will ascend interchangeably for the remainder of the track. Then, a sudden saxophone loops in and undoubtedly becomes the element that ties all the wonderful embellishments in All About You together.
What makes this track so great is that, for being a fairly new release, it’s showcasing a wonderful old school vibe. Filled with funk and soulful disco elements, The Honneydripper’s interpretation of these classic sounds in his EP makes for a solid contemporary spin. The EP was released on Canadian-based label Sooo Wet earlier last month, and is the perfect post-Halloween find.
