Happy New Year! As the resolutions begin roll in so will the forgotten classics and contemporary grooves we’ll be showcasing every Thursday for the rest of 2018! It feels good to listen to good music we like to think, and today is no different. We’re starting off on a strong note with a special track called “The Power” by Baltimorean producer Karizma, off The Power EP. First released in October of 99′ on Black Vinyl Records, there’s been a recent re-issue on London based label R2.
The reason “The Power” was chosen as the feature for Past to Present’s first song of the year is because it is such a strong track. Being that it was repressed in December of 2017, it’s nice and fresh, just like our New Year resolutions. We should look at Karizma as an example to always strive to be better than the day before, just as he has with every new release and every enchanting track. Throughout the song, listeners can find themselves captivated by the soulful spirit emitted by Karizma as he injects his special charm into the building blocks of this track. Carefully constructed to bewitch and delight, The Power EP is a must have, and you can purchase it here.
The New Year means new promises, and commitment is key; do it the right way. Listen to “The Power”, be healthy, and tune into Past to Present every Thursday!
Thank you for reading and enjoy!
