The acts known for bringing some seriously colorful vibes to the table, Pat Lok and Party Pupils, are back in the saddle once again this team releasing a funky-filled double A-side titled “I Want You / Alaska.”
In “I Want You,” the energy is brought to the table instantaneously, the pumping house percussion driving adrenaline to the system while the basslines, guitar work, and light synth rhythms add vibrancy through the melodies. The drop juices up the energetic theme already there, fast-strummed guitar and piano house helping the moment peak.
In “Alaska,” the mood takes a different direction in comparison to what the previous track laid out, slowing the motions down a tad while upping the technicality in the synth section. Dreaming and charming, “Alaska,” is a solid juxtaposition to what “I Want You,” started.
Clearly a match that was meant to be, Pat Lok and Party Pupils have fused the best parts of both their styles into 2 riveting experiences that will stand the test of time.
