What does a DJ do when they’ve got three Grammy nominations, had their mix voted “Best Essential Mix of All Time“, and over two decades of pioneering trance music under their belt? For Paul Oakenfold this means taking his love of trance music, repackaging and reworking it, in order to illuminate the path that got trance music where it is today. He plans to take it back to the roots with his latest North American “Trance Mission” Tour, in which he will be taking classic trance tracks and reworking them in such a way to revive it for the new generation of trance and EDM lovers. He will also be releasing a new album with the same title, that will include 10 of his favorite trance tracks remastered to give it a new, fresh sound.
Paul plans to take this tour in a new direction by booking smaller, more intimate venues so that the Trance family can truly come alive. His tour is sure to recruit a new generation of trance fans, and give America the emotional, heart-connections that makes trance one of the strongest EDM genres in the world. Paul Oakenfold’s tour kicks off in October, and the album should be out early 2014.
