Some would argue that decades have past since music shared a common ground with the promotion of collective action. Especially in the electronic world, music can often be shallow, or lacking a deeper meaning. The Polish Ambassador is part of a small group of electronic musicians today who are creating art not only for the purpose of entertainment, but more importantly for the purpose of raising awareness. Through his “Pushing Through the Pavement: Permaculture Action Tour,” David Sugalski, also known as The Polish Ambassador, aims to reconnect his fans with their environments and communities by promoting sustainable living.
Following each stop on the tour, The Polish Ambassador and a team of permaculture educators have arranged for a variety “impact days,” where concert-goers and fans are invited to partake in workshops and projects meant to forward the mission of co-creating a sustainable world. This Sunday, Oct. 19, following The Polish Ambassador show at the Fillmore on Saturday night, the team and all those who wish to attend will tour the Grow Haus Indoor Urban Farm before transforming a local lawn into a permaculture garden.
Denver’s Grow Haus Indoor Urban Farm is non-profit indoor farm, marketplace, and educational center which provides healthy, affordable food to the surrounding community. The Grow Haus’ mission aligns perfectly with permaculture, or the practice of building mutual support between people and the ecosystems they inhabit. Following the tour, attendees are encouraged to join the team in starting a permaculture-inspired garden at a neighbor’s home. For more information on Denver’s impact day, visit the event’s Facebook page.
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Due to the growing popularity of the Permaculture Action Tour Impact Days, The Polish Ambassador and his crew are now expecting between 300 and 700 people to attend this Sunday’s event in Denver. While this is a great problem to have, the previously scheduled site is unable to accommodate these numbers. Therefore, TPA has reached out to his Denver fans in hopes that a new site can be found. Here are the details below, copied from the TPA Facebook page….
Hey folks, we have a problem.
It’s an awesome problem, but a problem no less. Our action days attached to this tour are becoming a huge success. Because of your support of our ‘party with a purpose’ mission, we are expecting 300-700 people at our Denver impact day.
Because of this we have already outgrown our original site, and need a larger site. Again, awesome problem to have.
…So I have decided to source Polishbook to see if we can co-create an epic solution together because that’s what it’s all about right?
These are the things we need:
– a large urban farm/community garden/natural building site/etc that can make use of 300 or more helping hands (not your backyard!)
– tools & materials (mulch, shovels, soil, gloves, etc)
– food donations
– permaculture and sustainability workshops (solar oven demo, urban farming speakers, etc)
– local food/drink artisans or donations who want to share their goods and make hard working people happy! If you can offer any of these things, please email rootsrhizing@gmail.com as soon as possible.
Our permaculture action team will also be monitoring this thread and getting in touch with people that can directly address these needs.
Sharing this post in your feed is super powerful. You never know who has connections in Denver. Tagging friends in the Colorado area who can facilitate leads is also super helpful!
I’m very excited to see what this thread develops into. Im sure something super inspired because that’s the type of people you are.
This movement has just started but is already catching fire. Thank you for helping us tend the flames!
Love,
Polish
Tickets are still available to the Polish Ambassador’s show at the Filmore, which features an epic lineup of Liminus, Random Rab, and many others. Make sure not to miss this month’s funkiest dance party, and to pay your gratitude forward by participating in the following impact day.
