Felix Bloxsom is the man behind Plastic Plates, a well known name in the club scene in Australia, and his most recent release, “Leave a Light On” is sure to keep your feet on that dance floor, no matter where you are. For those that got to attend Coachella and all the pre parties surrounding the event, you may have gotten the chance to dance to this track at the Sweat It Out pool party. Before his recent rise from the sub label Club Sweat to the main league of Sweat It Out, Bloxsom has been working on his special synthesis of nu disco, electro pop, and some house for good measure. He was throwing down tracks like “Nothing Like You” and properly named “Sweat”, where he really started to capture everyone’s attention. He also has a plethora of remixes under his belt, working with wide range of artists such as Sia, Katy Perry, Cassian, and Mark Ronson to just name a few.
“Leave a Light On” features the vocals of Toronto native frontwoman of the band Dragonette, Martina Sorbara. The two first met when they produced “Bodyparts” together in 2012 and have been itching to collaborate again. This track has an upbeat house tempo intermixed with poppy synthesizers and an excellent nu disco melodic groove that flows perfectly with Sorbara’s seductive voice. This single is perfect to groove to in your car during these next few summer months. You can get stream this track on Spotify here.
