The hiatus has ended, we have reached the light at the end of the tunnel, Poolside has released a new video, announced an EP, and announced a 12 date North American tour all in the same day! Summer 2018 has all the potential to be the season for music we have all been waiting for!
The video for “Feel Alright” has the chill disposition we have become accustomed to expect from Poolside, complete with legendary pro-skater Braydon Szafranski skating across the U.S. and model/actress Ashley Smith subliminally messaging the video watcher with lyrics from the song you could definitely hang poolside with.
The “Feel Alright” video also came complete with the announcement of the Feel Alright EP which will include some remixes and also some experimental sounds the iconic band has been toying with. Finally, all the Poolside lovers out there will get the tour they have been craving, the band will head out on a 12-date North American Tour this summer, to celebrate, release their acclaimed album Heat via LP/CD for the first time.
Accompanying Poolside on this tour will be recent additions to the band drummer Vito Roccoforte and vocalist/bass player Mattie Safer of The Rapture, plus percussionist Brijean Murphy of Toro Y Moi.
Member Jeff of Poolside had this to say about the recent announcements,” Over the last five years the focus has been DJing in a club setting, so it’s been exciting adding new layers to the Poolside sound and working with some of my favorite players to bring the music to life in a live venue. Also pumped to play songs from Heat live for the first time ever.”
“Vito and Mattie, are the backbone and rhythm section from one of my favorite bands ever: the Rapture. They’ve been big influences on my musical career over the years. It’s super inspiring to play together with such great people with amazing musical chemistry. The punch they add to the music is unmistakable.” – Jeffrey Paradise.”
