It’s fairly intuitive that electronic music and video games go hand-in-hand, however EA’s choice in track for the background music of their new NHL 15 trailer took many of us by surprise in the best way possible. Instead of choosing the typical ‘banger’ to set the tone for the high-intensity game (which has been revamped with better graphics and more realistic game physics), Porter Robinson’s profound, and nonconformist tune, “Sea Of Voices” can be heard throughout the duration of the trailer video, which will inevitably be seen and heard by a sizeable audience.
A rich, melodic, and harmonious track, “Sea Of Voices” is set to be released on Porter’s highly-anticipated, and long-awaited album, Worlds, which has been scheduled to drop on August 12th. This track is also quite representative of the unique, and atypical artistic direction that he has boldly chosen to take the LP. I must say that it meshes remarkably well with the video clips of the game, and that this is quite an impressive outlet of exposure for the 21-year-old artist.
