Porter Robinson recently interviewed with MTV announcing a back-to-back (not A2A) tour with fellow baby-faced electro killer OWSLA mate Zedd. Having just finished up the Language tour and festival circuit, Porter Robinson’s takeover of the electronic dance music and the hearts of teen girls everywhere has always been inevitable. The progression from electro to deeper trance tracks like Language, has helped as well.
Porter went on to tell MTV that he’s working with Zedd on a track that’s currently titled Poseidon and that lead to the naming of the tour. Although not official, the format will follow performances at Lollapalooza and Camp Bisco where the duo is on-stage together switching from one track to the next. It shouldn’t be difficult for Porter and Zedd to work together given their relationship and set-ups are virtually identical as both use a Traktor S4 / MacBook Pro combination.
The back to back concepts draws its inspiration from live performances by Doctor P and Flux Pavilion;
They just slap them back and forth for an hour and a half and the crowd screams every time they recognize something. To me that’s awesome! So I would love to capture that with me and Zedd. But we also have a lot of songs that are not by us that we have a shared huge appreciation for and we plan to improvise a lot. We want to get up there and be stupid and have fun.
Dates have not been announced yet (except you can catch them at Skylab), but expect them to come in the next week or so.
