A flood of excellent music hit the internet this week, giving us more dope music to work with. Genre’s aren’t lacking in experimentalism or innovation in 2015, most of the below artists are seriously pushing the limits of their respective genres, (if any,) and this is just one week’s worth of music. Check back weekly for more of the boldest and baddest releases of the week.
Evoke & Laura Brehm – Future Holds EP
Future Holds focus’s more on instrumentals and non-electronic genres than what you may expect. The three-track EP is stunningly moving, featuring great originals bursting with awesome moments. Evoke, we salute you.
San Holo – Victory
Teasing his debut Monstercat EP Victory, out 5/25, San Holo has dropped the lead single, “Victory,” which is turning ears of Monstercat fans and general EDM fans alike. The single features hints of cut-up vocals, spacey vibes, and sick 8-bit elements, check back on WRR for the full EP review post-EP release.
Phil Collins – In The Air Tonight (‘Panski & John Skyfield Remix)
Creating a sick fusion of tropical, deep, and classic house, Panski and John Skyfield form a super chill edit of Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” – perfect ending track to any type of playlist.

Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding – Outside (Frankie Sanchez Remix)
Future bass at it’s best! Frankie Sanchez, not only warp the warm vocals of Ellie, transforming it into something completely it’s own, but takes the track to a whole new level. Don’t let this free DL pass.

Montgomery – Not Around (JackLDN Remix)
JackLNDN is a remix of Montgomery’s “Not Around,” giving it new life including feelings of edginess and mellow, but equally as dynamic and powerful. It delivers a poppier mood with it’s increased tempo and added depth, showing JackLNDN’s still got it, also, don’t miss him at Hangout Music Fest!

Yellow Claw – Run Away
The euro-trio Yellow Claw experiment with much more chill sounds with “Run Away.” The single features basically no trap, instead hypnotizes their audience with an ambient, minimal deep house tune.
Nite School Klik – Posse
It takes almost a minute for this track to really take off, but it’s a wild ride all the way through. A truly unique song, you can hear the mixing and sampling skills deep in the sound. Off of DJ Shadow’s legendary label Liquid Amber, “Nite School Klik” sounds old-school in all of the right ways.
Ferry Corsten – Back to Paradise ft. Haris (Sir Matty V & Steve Melnyk Remix)
Sir Matty V & Steve Melnyk take this trance track and put more of a house spin on it, but it’s trancey heart still shines through. It’s emotional and beautiful, and these guys take this track to another level as they push this track further and further to paradise.

Chocolate Puma & Junior Sanchez ft. Arama – Lost Your Groove
Released off of Dim Mak records, this collaboration is retro, fun, and unique in today’s scene. Someone lost their groove, but these guys sure didn’t. This song has classic elements and is somewhat reminiscent of recent pop-funk hits, but the single keeps it’s deep house elements which shine through when the drop hits. This one will be remixed heavily, and we’ll be looking out for them!
Protohype & PhaseOne – Recon
We can’t have a Powerful Picks without some heavy, dirty bass. With comments like “Why are my eyes bleeding!” you know this one is insane in the best, wub wub way possible. Protohype & PhaseOne make for a solid pair, for this track that sounds like a storied epic. Simply put: ‘dat rhythm.
Karma Fields – Build The Cities ft. Kerlie (Project 46 Remix)
You may know Project 46 because of Kaskade, but their own music is awesome in its own right and this progressive house remix is fun, uplifting, and catchy as ever. Kerlie’s vocals are bubbly, and you’ll be singing along sooner than later. Another remix of the track just dropped, thanks to the heavy-hitting Rootkit!
Zomboy – Nuclear (Dillon Francis Remix)
I’ve loved “Nuclear” by Zomboy since seeing him at Electric Zoo 2013, but Dillon Francis put his handy work on this dubstep track and it’s equally as good as the original, if not better. Dillon Francis seriously has yet to disappoint me. Whether you like dubstep or not, this track is good.
Rihanna – BBHMM (Jonas Aden & DJ Sub Zero Remix)
Jonas Aden, future house producer, and DJ Sub Zero, Parisian/Miami G-house master team up to create grimy future house remix of this track. Word has it they’ll be collaborating again this summer, so hopefully more future ghetto house tracks are being cooked up.
