The future vibes just keep coming. It’s safe to say that “EDM” is taking a new wave / hipster turn in 2015. A continuous flood of sub-genres cross-breeding has formed a new broad trend that captures listeners from both mainstream and underground culture. See this culture reflected, and many more, in this week’s Powerful Picks list along with songs with great energy from all across the electronic music universe.
PIXL & Pairanoid – Bring It
With electro basslines thumping PIXL & Pairanoid go big with “Bring It.” Featuring a unique mixture of deep house melodies and strong bass, “Bring It” takes the vibe up a notch.
Rage Against The Machine – Sleep Now in the Fire (BTSM Remix)
The title of this tune alone makes you want to click. Black Tiger Sex Machine show their power through a classic anti-establishment hard rock group Rage Against The Machine. “Sleep Now in the Fire (BTSM Remix)” maintains a similar energy level throughout, giving it a late 2000’s Deadmau5 / MSTRKRFT feel to it. Worth every second of your time.

Melvv – Reflection
On a lighter note, “Reflection” by Melvv is an instant soul-soother. From the first beat, Melvv’s signature style and attention to detail pulls you in and makes you feel great through it’s entirety. Melvv can’t really be put into a single genre, but has a sound all his own, making Melvv a highly unique brand in the electronic game.
ST. NIKLAS – Everything Is In Your Hands (Cavego Remix)
Cavego keeps it funky with his energetic remix of “Everything Is In Your Hands.” If MGMT and Sam Feldt had a baby, it would probably be this track. The bold vocals capture the moment well and are just as fitting in this remix as in the original.
Jauz & Pegboard Nerds – Get On Up
To massive juggernauts pair up to make masterpiece of an original released on Monstercat. Focusing on a melodic vocal intro, Jauz and Pegboard Nerds pull you in with a gentle melody. After the build up, your mind is blown by an extreme future house-esque drop that rocks the socks off.
Ella Eyre – Good Times (Kat Krazy Remix)
I’m a huge fan of Kat Krazy, his signature rhythmic, pop-house style is simply addicting. For the past year, Kat Krazy has been unleashing solid remix after remix. “Good Times (Kat Krazy Remix)” is a imaginative extension to this catalog. If you like good catchy music, you’ll love Kat Krazy.
3 Monkeyzz – Into My Dream (ft. Louise Mambell)
A laid-back tempo and dramatic piano ballad make “Into My Dream” the satisfying sound that it is. This tune is absolutely fresh and has an all-original theme that’s easy to sink into. Props to TDP for posting this one.

Gazzo feat. Carly Simmons – Kids (MGMT COVER)
Gazzo takes a more experimental turn with his latest tune, covering MGMT’s massive hit “Kids.” Gazzo definitely transforms the tune and gives it a brand new feeling. The cloudy effects and ambient atmosphere really does the tune great justice.
Marcus Schossow – Lionheart (‘Panski Remix)
Atlanta-based chill house artist Panski has released his own remix of the “Lionheart” hit, released via Armada Music. Although not an official release of the remix EP, the tune sends a pleasant tingle down the spine. The mixture of folk elements with a chill house core pulls the emotion of “Lionheart (‘Panski Remix)” together well.
Love Inc Ibiza 2015
Love Inc has dropped a 14 track compilation album highlighting solid house tracks that have made their way to the Ibiza dance floors lately. The four tracks shown below are the exclusives that were revealed when the album released. Each has it’s own way of hypnotizing you through classic house, cloudy ambient vibes, and strong vocals.
Dabin – Touch Remix EP
Good music theory is the root of every potentially popular track. It’s a requirement that must me met to attain virility. Touch Remix EP features sick theory thanks to Kicks N Licks, Ghosts, and Imagined Herbal Flows. The Ghosts remix is easily my favorite, the atmospherics and acoustic guitar work is perfect for the remix.
SoulCircuit ft Maverick Sabre – Rolling With Me (Tom Bull Remix)
“Rolling With Me (Tom Bull Remix)” is a trip. Classic house elements come together to make a future house meets classic house experience. The longer you listen, the longer the hypnotizing percussion and basslines take control. After a long day, this tune is perfect to zone out to.
