The holidays came quick and many tunes didn’t get to see the light of day. This week’s powerful picks focuses on tunes released in the new year as well as the last couple of weeks. From superstars to up-and-comers, everyone on this list dished out solid productions that will make your life better.
Party Thieves & B-sides – L.D.B
Party Thieves & B-sides is a combination so good the likes of Mad Decent has picked it up. “L.D.B” features a Mad Decent/ Diplo vibe pushed to the max. The drop is easily the most shocking part of the tune. Intense, piercing, but not irritating to listen to in the least, quite the opposite actually. The chill bridge forms a great juxtaposition between the vibes conveyed in the tune.
Max Styler & Charlie Darker – D2B (Charlie Darker VIP Edit)
Charlier Darker has got it. From the moment his tunes reached my ears, I new he would be a guy who pushed bass genres to the limit. And he has. With a sound that seemingly combining the best parts of Botnek and Snails, Charlie Darker’s VIP edit of “B2B” will put a little hair on the chest.
Jauz x Pegboard Nerds – Get On Up (not sorry & Wild Boyz! Remix)
It’s hard to imagine that a Jauz and Pegboard Nerds tune could get any harder. But not sorry and WildBoyz! were able to accomplish just that. With a massive bass sound that isn’t over-reaching, this remix blows the lid off of most popular dubstep tracks.
Foster the people – Pumped Up Kicks (wvrd. Remix)
I never would of imagined “Pumped Up Kicks” in this light. But young producer wvrd. sees things differently. The bassline is what makes this tune great at its core, yet the drop and bridge compliment the over all theme expressed. Wvrd. is clearly stepping it up in 2016.
GURBAX – Get It! (ft. Wazulu)
“Get It!” is where bass and hip-hop meet. GURBAX’s, for fans of Pretty Lights, GRiZ, and Tipper, “Get It!” is hypnotizing, rhythmic, and consistent in all the right places. A tune that puts a pep in your step and leave you wanting more.
Rozes – Fragile (AVNU Remix)
AVNU has produced something unique that fills the body with energy. “Fragile (AVNU Remix)” turns the Rozes vocals we are now all so familiar with into a high-energy, poppy experience that’s perfect for anytime.
