As always this week’s Powerful Picks is a mixed bag of every genre, from dubstep to future bass. But this week especially features some of this generation’s most innovative and unpredictable producers. If you’re ready to have your mind blow crank up those speakers and get ready for this week’s edition of POWERFUL PICKS!
J $tash – London (Bleep Bloop Remix)
In this mind-bending remix of last year’s viral trap hit Bleep Bloop delivers his unique sound in a whole new way. The original song is never gets left behind, but Bleep Bloops wonky and distorted sound design becomes the instant focus as soon as that bass hits! We can’t even imagine the chills this song’s sporadic and unpredictable sound would bring ravers on the dance floor.
DELTAnine & Prismatic – Fracture
With their new collab DELTAnine & Prismatic find the balance between euphoric melody and absolutely bone shattering bass. The song evolves drastically from the melodic intro, transforming it into two masterfully heavy and different drops that challenges the boundaries of sound design, before seamlessly bringing it back to the song’s original theme.
Egzod – Paper Crowns (feat. Leo The Kind)
Egzod is one the hottest up and coming producers currently in the scene. With quality release after release and no signs of slowing down, this French producer has been on a roll; or should we say baguette? “Paper Crowns” is no exception and brings forth his signature World Bass sounds along with the restless vocals and heavy soul of Leo The Kind. This NCS release is one unique track that will be sure to deliver a refreshing and new sound to future bass.
Dirtyphonics & Bassnectar – Watch Out (feat. Ragga Twins)
Two legends of dance music team up to make a bass-reggaeton single that will revive the love of bass music within you. This single combines the classic elements that are now nostalgic to dubstep veterans with a production makeover, Bassnectar and Dirtyphonics delivering an overall original fresh sound. No one could have predicted the result when these two got together, but clearly, it was meant to be.
ASHA – LØVE (feat. Loyal & Sigourney K)
If you prefer the more melodic side of bass music then “LØVE” is a perfect fit for your taste. With a smooth drop that chops up the talented vocals of Loyal & Sigourney K, this upbeat track will get you vibing along to the beat quickly. ASHA’s debut track is definitely an impressive one that leads us to look forward to future tracks.
Cazztek x Tony Romera – Make You Drop
Thrive Music continues to drop standout tracks from hot up-and-coming artists, Cazztek and Tony Romera’s “Make You Drop” being the latest from the label. Strap in, these two have made a bass house banger that goes off, throwing in the wubs at all the right times. If you are looking for a single that is heavy, but forward-thinking, look no further than Cazztek and Tony Romera’s “Make You Drop.”
Dapp – Front To The Back
Connecticut producer Dapp once again shows why he has been popping up all over the place in the last year or so. While his new single draws from an age old trap formula his unique approach to sound design and melody creates a tune that is absolutely irresistible. Just check out how freaking heavy those drums are!
DJ Snake – Here Comes The Night (Crankdat Remix)
Crankdat has been making some waves recently, and this remix is a perfect example why! The juicy vocals of DJ Snake’s original song are built upon to deliver a euphoric drop seeping with wide and immersive bass. While the first drop is a beautiful future bass drop, Crankdat flips the tune on its head with the second drop, bringing us back to his heavy trap roots.
Anakim – Absolute Magnitude
This techno tune may be somewhat repetitive, but all is forgiven thanks to just how masterfully it presents its menacing melodies and sounds. The dark tune chugs along, building on a simple arpeggio to create an atmosphere that is completely spooky and immersive. The edition of brass sounds really helps to drive home that fat deep sound that the tune so perfectly captures.
Scatz – Nemesis
Massive chune right here! With “Nemesis” Scatz brings that deep sound, flooding the listener’s ears with a phat sub and crunchy drums. In typical Scatz fashion the song is a sonic journey that continues to evolve over time, presenting a variety of weird and gooey bass sounds to fill the gaps that sub leads. Straight nasty!
