So if you’re ready to be taken away, crank up that speaker and get ready for this week’s edition of POWERFUL PICKS!
Dirt Monkey & Clinton Sly – Full Peel
Over the course of their careers Dirt Monkey and Clinton Sly have been constant collaborators, bringing an authentic and unique roots reggae sound back into dubstep. With Full Peel Clinton Sly actually worked with Dirt Monkey on the physical production, creating a one of a kind bass filled tune that is fun and lively. This will definitely go off live!
Toadface – Last Metroid
Drawing inspiration from the classic Metroid video games Toadface created another wonky and spaced out tune that will rattle your speakers with trippy bass. Staying true to any video game, the song evolves over time, becoming harder and more intense with each of the three drops.
WeAreTreo – Break Me Down ft. Ava Re
“Break Me Down ft. Ava Re” was released earlier this month by three-man group WeAreTreo, comprised of Ace Future, Trevor Shawn, and Spencer Regan. These guys have been tearing up the west coast clubs with these singles, “Break Me Down” being their latest. This standout element here is not only the quality future bass vibe, but the clean feel you get on this one from start to finish, definitely a keeper.
Flatdisk & Gil Sanders – Lost
Flatdisk and Gil Sanders have teamed up to deliver a powerful track that will find its way on repeat. With the angelic vocals of Jacob Wellfair and smooth vocal chops in a solid drop, “Lost” will have you captivated from the moment you press play
RBYN – Out Of The Dark
RBYN’s “Out Of The Dark” combines the dramatic introverted-ness of a Suicide Sheep song with the future bass style of acts like Whethan or Illenium. The vibe strikes hard and the tune is certainly memorable. RBYN’s previous release “Angel” tackled over 10 million views, “Out Of The Dark” is set on a similar path. Watch out for this German gem.
Muzzy – Spectrum
Muzzy is back and he’s not playing around. “Spectrum” is the lead single off of his new EP coming out on none-other than Monstercat. This guy kills it when it comes to production value, colstering an audience, and branding. Muzzy has millions of plays to his name, “Spectrum” and the new EP is set to achieve similar sucess.
Brillz x Jackal x Kstylis – Twerk Star
Brillz join forces with two of his Twonk all stars to create yet another trap anthem with “Twerk Star” The weird and metallic main bass is emphasized by crunchy and powerful drums and a massive subbass. In the second drop the main melody is expanded on to keep things fresh for all you Twerk stars out there looking for something fresh to move your booty to!
Megalodon & Midnight Tyrannosaurus – Jurassic
Never Say Die’s Black label has been on fire recently, which is only fueled by yet another massive release from two of the label’s heaviest bass monsters. While punchy drums and bone-shattering bass are the real star here, the song is brought alive with samples from an old film or video game, giving the tune a fun and cheeky feel.
GAWTBASS – Uncursed
If this song was a painting it would be spooky and massive, filled with too much to take in at once. The tune’s main melody lays the foundation for a seemingly endless amount of changes and small details, creating an evolution that always keeps the listener on their feet.
Diamond Pistols – Gold Rush (ft. Reese)
This is a beautiful yet powerful future bass tune that rises above the genre’s trends to create an experience that is completely unique. The captivating vocal lines of Reese are the main focus of the tune, which is joined by a variety of synths and drums, leading into a wide and euphoric drop that employess subtle changes to keep things fresh. The absolute best thing about this song though is its use of traditional instruments, which liven up the bridge and outro, creating a song that will absolutely stand out in the sea of future bass tunes.
