We like to keep things flowing nicely here, so if you’re really looking for a journey be sure to listen in order. So if you’re ready to take it to the next level, crank up your speakers and hit play on this week’s POWERFUL PICKS!
The 95ers – Lean
Dirt Monkey and Amp Live’s new collab project is a melting pot of the sounds and styles the two veteran producers have developed over their careers. The EP’s first track “Lean” is a bollywood inspired trap track that surrounds you with its wide and immersive bass. The song’s progression perfectly expands on the theme, creating a sonic journey that truly leaves you wanting to put the song on repeat.
DELTAnine & Prismatic – E.M.P.
Once again bringing unique and unexpected songwriting to the genre of dubstep, DELTAnine and Prismatic have joined forces to deliver a song that we will not soon forget. A simple melody blends with thick drums and bass to lead into a wonky drop that takes over the melodic theme through a variety of psychedelic bass sounds. The energy builds into the second drop, resulting in a fast paced bass assault that still manages the keep hold of that common thread.
Nasko – Game On (ft. M.I.M.E.)
In “Game On” eery choir vocals build up a chilling rap verse from M.I.M.E, before transitioning into an intense drop that really pushes the boundaries of metallic dubstep. It truly walks the line between music and experimental sound porn, at one point the song even sounds as if it is breaking down into its core digital data.
INF1N1TE & Subject 31 – MVP
The newest collab between rising dubstep heavyweights INF1N1TE and Subject 31 features an ominous melody, robotic vocal samples, and an arrangement that never stops evolving. Throughout the song’s three different drops the listener is treated to every kind of bass synth you can think of. Whether you’re experiencing higher pitched metallic bass, or deep grimy bass, the producer’s masterful use of sound will give you goosebumps.
Lil Uzi Vert – XO TOUR Llif3 (Sam North Remix)
Sam North builds on Lil Uzi Vert’s hit song, maintaining the original lyrics and theme, while adding his own addictive strings and hard hitting bass. The tune is short and sweet, tastefully transitioning between the original song and the new parts in a way that will liven up any dance floor.
The Funk Hunters & Chali 2na – Word To Spread feat. Tom Thum (Smalltown DJs Remix)
This remix of The Funk Hunters’ groovy original is subtle but powerful. The kicks feel like elephant feet, stomping around while deep bass and vocals weave in and out of each other. All the song’s other filler sounds and subtle additions really help to give it a lot of life, making it a track that is sure to perk the ears of any house lover.
