This week’s Powerful Picks is a diverse collection of some of dance music’s biggest bangers. We have hard hitting dubstep, as well as countless other genres for your enjoyment. If you’re ready to take things to the next level, hit play on this week’s POWERFUL PICKS!
Dillon Francis – Say Less (feat. G – Eazy) [Eptic Remix]
Eptic puts his unique twist on Dillon Francis’ bangin tune with rapper G-Eazy! His wonky style of bass perfectly adds to the hard hitting foundation that the rapper’s vocals lay down. As if that wasn’t enough, the song features a beautifully lush bridge that seamlessly leads back into a fire drop.
SAYMYNAME – Turn Up Da Bass
After having a huge response from his collab with Mercer, SAYMYNAME is back to deliver another unique house track that screams his sounds. With top level sound design and heavy hitting lows “Turn Up Da Bass” will have you moving until the early morning.
Trigger Happy & Ryan Green – Questions
“Questions” is a track with a positive feel and talented vocals. This future bass inspired tune will take a quick turn to the darker side though, as the heavier drops take you by surprise and deliver powerful, grimy synths. Don’t let the melodic verses fool you!
Richfellow – Rouse
The Philly based producer, Richfellow, is back deliver more bass after recently releasing his Polymer EP. This time around he’s teamed up with Jadu Dala, a label known for their unique and high caliber releases. “Rouse” falls no where short of the labels standards, with unique sound design and an overall feel that will grab your attention.
Woofax – Capacity Frontier EP
Impossible Records is known for putting out some of the dirtiest and heaviest tunes around. This time around they delivered Woofax’s four track EP “Capacity Frontier” which falls nowhere near short of what they’re known for. Make sure to check out our favorite track on the album “Arabian Dreams”!
KUURO – Possession
KUURO’s newest single, released on Monstercat, leans more toward a darker sound. After a couple listens, the group reminded me of a blend between Aero Chord and Pegboard Nerds, containing eerie atmospheres, but slam dunking it when it comes to innovative bass sounds. KUURO is new to me, but “Possession” has the act on my favorites list.
Rameses B – Nova
Featuring a design that is very much true to his roots, Rameses B delivers a drum and bass single that is smooth carpet ride. “Nova” is packed full of creativieity, playing out like a story as various musical layers drop in-and-out in a fluid, natural way. Rameses B is a veteran DJ with many years experience, but “Nova” tells the world he’s still up for pushing the envolope forward.
Grant – Are We Still Young (feat. Jessi Mason)
I have been looking forward to sitting down and writing about this one, Grant is one of my favorite up-and-comers of 2017, seemingly out of the blue the solo artist has drop epic, vivid, and uplifting singles that keep getting better and better. With Grant’s music, it’s tuff to pin-point certain aspects that makes his sound his own or makes his release good, for me right now, his jams are simply euphoically phenominal because they are so layered with intellect. His music is defining a new chapter on what it means to be a true up and comer in 2017.
