This edition of Powerful Picks holds some of the heavier releases of this week and is one for the more serious bass fans. With some familiar names and up and coming artists mixed in, there is a track to suit everyone’s taste palate. Kick back, crank the speakers, and get ready for our hand-crafted selections – this is Powerful Picks.
KRANE & QUIX – Next World
Starting things off this week are heavy hitters KRANE & Quix with their brand new collab “Next World”. The title of this track is an accurate portrayal of what listeners can expect, as you’re transported away from dark arpeggios and two unique drops. With the classic KRANE future bass tailing the track and Quix’s hybrid sound kicking off the first drop, the releases couldn’t have highlighted the two producers sounds any better.
KUURO – Swarm
If you’re not familiar with KUURO (pronounced cure-oh) then prepare yourself for some heavy bass. The duo signed to Paradigm’s talent agency are by no means unfamiliar with releasing music that will have your neck worn out for days. With the two teaming up with Monstercat once more, “Swarm” is a serious dubstep track that will easily make its way around plenty of festival sets from your favorite bass artists.
SAINT WKND & MAX – Survive (PLS&TY Remix)
PLS&TY couldn’t have been a better remixer for SAINT WKND & MAX’s “Survive”. With crisp synth work packed into an explosive drop and catchy vocals in the verses to help hook listeners in, this take on the original is the perfect flip for heavier sets and artists to play out.
LEViTATE – OMNI EP
After following LEViTATE for a while, his OMNI EP is exactly what you would expect from the artist and more, while still catching you off guard with unreal sound design. The whole EP is definitely worth listening to with each track being similar in style, yet different enough from the last to hold your attention. With an array of vocalists hovering around a hip-hop feel, the hybrid artist demonstrates how to push the envelope further in a time of saturated sounds.
