You can expect a crazy amount of diversity in each track and tons of switch ups that will take you by surprise! Kick back, crank the speakers, and get ready for our hand-crafted selections – this is Powerful Picks.
Nitti Gritti – Blame On Me
Getting us started this week is Nitti Gritti with his latest release “Balme On Me” off his upcoming three track EP C’est La Vie. Not only did the bass artist mix and master the track, but he provided the vocals as well truly showcasing his diversity as an artist. The hip-hop influenced track is one that has been on repeat since I received the demo and will quickly get you hooked!
Gammer – THE DROP
The heavy hitting, Monstercat artist is back yet again with another face melting track. “THE DROP” is a tune that deserves to have the title in all caps to demonstrate how loud this release will be shouting at you when you get to the drop. With an unreal amount of energy packed into this four minute record, each chorus will leave you wanting more as the diverse sounds and switch ups catch you by surprise.
INZO – Visionaries (feat. Novet)
“Visionaries” is definitely this weeks hidden gem of a track. I found myself coming back to the drop over and over, as it is one of those rare tracks you come across every so often that can only be described as satisfying. The hip-hop vocals help couple this tune into one that is seriously hard to quit, as Novet lays down some mesmerizing verses.
Freddy Todd – Audible Edibles (GRiZ Remix)
Next up, we have the funk master himself, GRiZ, taking us over to a different side of his sound. All though the tune is still a unique one and holds the artists signature weirdness, we could only sit back and wish it was longer. The amount of diversity he continues to put into his tracks cannot be matched and holds the true sign of a talented artist!
MRNG – Side Chick
“Side Chick” is the latest release from Warpaint Records, a bass label with a big sound. MRNG helps turn it up a notch with his trap style that encompasses dark vocals and three unique drops that get better each time. You can expect to get lured in from the moving bass lines and melodic feel present throughout the entirety of the track.
D-wayne – Trippin’
Afrojack’s Netherland based label Wall Recordings struck gold with their latest signee D-Wayne. “Trippin'” will have you grooving to each kick as the bass house tune takes you on an adventure with unpredictable twists and turns. It will be hard to stand still to this four-on-the-floor banger as the percussions pound and the synths screech out.
Never Say Die Vol. 5 – Mixed by SKisM
Lastly, we have a mega mix from the legendary label Never Say Die. This time around they called upon SKisM to show off some of his mixing skills and knowledge and he couldn’t have done better. We recommend listening to this one all the way through from beginning to end, so get ready to hit the gym, do some mundane tasks, or take a long drive while head banging (please don’t crash) and turn it up to full volume!
