It’s another week and another Powerful Picks is here! This time around we have a different genre coming at you with each and every track. Kick back, crank the speakers, and get ready for our hand-crafted selection – this is Powerful Picks.
Justice – Phantom Pt. II (Midnight Kids Remix)
Hitting the ground hard this week is Midnight Kids with their remix of the legendary Justice’s “Phantom Pt. II.” This take on the original is one of those refreshing tracks you hear every so often that make it hard to compare it to anything else. With a refreshing song structure, larger than life chords, and thick bass throughout the entire mix, it’s clear that Midnight Kids mean business.
Thandi Phoenix – My Way
Out on Island Records is the flawless vocalist Thandi Phoenix with her drum and bass release “My Way.” Get ready to become lost in addicting vocal melodies, well polished top lines, and a world of fantasy. The upbeat tempo, yet soothing vocals will help segue you from hard-hitting music to a relaxing atmosphere.
Yakz – The Music
David Mitori is the 25-year-old producer behind Yakz, the latest artist to release on Buygore’s frshblood imprint. “The Music” is a follow up to the release of his massive collaboration “SHUT ‘EM DOWN” and it could not have been better. With hard-hitting wobbles and plenty of wubs, this tune will get any crowd headbanging and rowdy.
K-LO – Pieces
Closing us out this week is the upcoming producer K-LO with his latest record “Pieces.” This hybrid tune takes the best of both worlds, as Lieza’s vocals help guide the track along a melodic path and the unexpected chorus throws you into a heavy trap drop. Don’t let his follower count fool you though, as this is one artist who is quickly mastering his production!
