It’s another week and another Powerful Picks is ready to bless your hump day escape with its presence. This time around you can expect some new names, familiar faces, and heavy electro vibes. Kick back, crank the speakers, and get ready for our hand-crafted selection – this is Powerful Picks.
FWLR – How We Win
Kicking us off this week is FWLR on the Canadian-based imprint Monstercat. “How We Win” is a unique electro track that will breathe a much-needed breath of fresh air into the ever-growing stale bass scene. With the overuse of presets and sample packs being so readily available now to producers of any level, FWLR is one artist here to demonstrate that recording your own sounds and breaking away from the status quo is how to stand out.
Post Malone, Justin Bieber – Deja Vu (Whethan Remix)
The rising star Whethan is back to bless us with another remix, loaded with his old sound and reminding us of the old flips that got us caught on his production style to begin with. His take on Post Malone and Justin Bieber’s “Deja Vu” introduces a future bass vibe with luscious chords and smooth vocal chops. It’s going to be hard to not hit throw this one on repeat!
Bonez – ILTWYD
Coming out and swinging hard with their debut track is the anonymous artist Bonez and they’re bringing some serious dark vibes. “ILTWYD” will have you caught up in a melancholic atmosphere complete with a gloomy overtone on each addicting melody. From the unique synth work to the slamming percussions, this is one artist you won’t want to miss out on.
Shadient – COLLIDER
Coming at us next with some serious electro vibes is Shadient with their latest release “COLLIDER.” This tune is ready to get any crowd rowdy with its moving bass lines and hard-hitting drums. Even with no vocals present, the emotion captured from Shadient is strongly present and ready for each listener to feel it as well!
Anarbor – MIA (Dead Robot Remix)
Closing us out this week is Dead Robot with his take on Anarbor’s “MIA.” This sentient tune features vocals that wash over you and throw you into a world of emotion with each drop. Be careful not to get too lost though, you won’t want to miss out on the addicting melodies and infectious hooks.
