The creativity of an artist can truly be amazing sometimes. This week features many up-and-comers that are making moves faster, smarter, and quicker than what 2015 brought us – which makes us particularly amped for what the year will bring. 2016 is set up to be the year EDM unleashes, lets see if it plays out strong.
A R I Z O N A – Let Me Tøuch Yøur Fire (Snøwmass Remix)
Snøwmass has an interesting twist to the future bass sound. Combining the best elements of this, indie and pop, “Let Me Tøuch Yøur Fire (Snøwmass Remix)” is a slow, dramatic, spiritual journey that’s suprisingly super radio friendly. RaverRafting talked to Snowmass and he had an amazing story to tell, more update on that soon.
Ditta & Dumont – Pick It Up
At it’s core, “Pick It Up” is a old-school-trap-meet-rap sound that’s as smooth as it is clever. With every passing beat, a new hook or growl comes at you from the corners of the speakers, ensuring that not a second of the experience is boring. Ditta & Dumont have something unique that shouldn’t be let go of, I’d love to hear an EP expanded on the vibe.
Pegboard Nerds – Emoji ($unday $ervice Remix)
$unday $ervice could be the next Chainsmokers, every aspect of their artistry is lined up for this type of catapult into the mainstream / semi-mainstream. Will they provide tunes that captures both a main and EDM audience and go for for the next level? Time will tell. But until then, we’ll have to enjoy the amazing tunes the duo are putting out. $unday $ervice won’t be leaving my radar anytime soon.
Dion Timmer – “Rip The Roof Down (ft. Mayor Apeshit)
If you’re a loyal UK bass fan or a casual lover or dubstep, you will love what is going on here. Members of Excisions team participate in creating Plug Me In EP, “Rip The Roof Down (ft. Mayor Apeshit)” is one of the most eclectic of the bunch. If you like what you hear, click through and listen to the entire EP now.
NightLurkers – Make It Hot
So much action going on here. NightLurkers has brought together a team of rappers that, combined with a Diplo / bounce hybrid beat and..whatever this dope motivating sound is I’m hearing, makes for a tune perfect for any future party playlist. This NYC group is popping off and there’s no sign of slowing.
David Guetta featuring Sia & Fetty Wap – Bang My Head (Club Killers Remix)
Club Killers’ remix puts you in the zone. An eastern trap theme beat is blasting out around hypnotic Fetty Wap and Sia verses, and much more – “Bang My Head (Club Killers Remix)” is the pinnacle of a proper enhancement of the original.
RL Grime – Always (DEVAULT x Wildfire Remix)
It’s a daunting task to take on an RL Grime track, the dude is practically the godfather of the trap movement at the time. DEVAULT and Wildfire have put together something serious. This isn’t a tune that blows you away by going outrageously big; the sound design matches and compliments the original beautifully, making it feel more like an extension of the original than just putting their spin/sound on it. The theme is spot on.
