Powerful Picks is here. Which means a few things. Heavy bass, epic anthems – anything that’s not defined as “chill” may wind up on this weekly curated list. Lots of epic dance music songs came across our plate this week, each stands out for it’s own unique reasons. Dive into a piece of what we’re enjoying this week below.
Jayden Parx – Otherside (ZACK MARTINO Remix)
ZACK MARTINO takes the best elements from several genres and put’s them into a single epic anthem. “Otherside (ZACK MARTINO Remix)” takes it’s time, which every great banger does, and satisfies with a massive drop. The tune is like if DJ Snake and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike had a baby. A mainstage feel with a clear, keen ear on what’s going big within multiple sub cultures of dance music is what “Jayden Parx – Otherside (ZACK MARTINO Remix) conveys. Keep a close ear on him this “dark progressive” sound from ZACK MARTINO.
Ty Dolla $ign – Blasé ft. Future & Rae Sremmurd (Wheathin Remix)
“Blasé ft. Future & Rae Sremmurd (Wheathin Remix)” is a perfect follow up to the dark vibes of the previous track. The tune is pretty dark, but has a meaningful, mature messages spoken through the msuic. A sound that makes you step back and go “damn.” A keeper from start to finish. This is a track where sound design means everything, complexities wasn’t important, the vibe was, and the vibe fits here.
Matisse & Sadko feat. TITUS – Get Busy
“Get Busy” combines bass house and hip-hop in flat-out fun ways. This tune could def pop off at the club, festival, or bedroom. The highly melodic rap verse is icing on the cake with this one. Taking the listener to cloud 9 while also having the juxtaposition of being a phenomenal track to dance to. TITUS is one who particularly jumps out here, his name has been on some solid tunes as of late. This song has been available for preview for a while but is now available for purchase.
Dabin & Koven – Revenant
With a name like Mr. SuicideSheep being associated, the track almost needs no introduction to be considered for a play. My favorite part is the combination of the electric guitar and dubstep – a trend that has been appearing more and more this year – and how unique and different the second drop is from the first. Dabin just played Birmingham, which we covered, check it out here. Also, dive into what both artists are up to by looking in the description of this track.
Herobust – Bottle Swervice (CRaymak x Greater Than Remix)
Every type of screech you can imagine is lined up perfectly, and somehow melodically, to make one of the coolest, roughest trap drops you’ve heard all year. “Bottle Swervice (CRaymak x Greater Than Remix)” does justice to the original. This isn’t the first time these two have killed a remix either. The last one they did got well over 500K plays on SoundCloud. Check out these two’s profile for more on that.
