This week’s PP is a list of hard-hitting songs with a small surprise genre shift at the end. Trap, club trap hybrids, dubstep, and more found it’s away across our computer screens this week. Enjoy the energy that inspired us below.
Jessica Audiffred – K.O.
Bass music is getting more clever in general, especially since the rise of trap these past few years. Jessica Audiffred’s “Audiffred ” is an interesting style of dark melodies mixed with almost every type of heavy genre out there (trap, dubstep, moombah, ect. drum patterns are featured), a tasty feat to pull together and a style that reminds me a lot of Brig.
Senor Roar – Pop That
Trap lords rejoice, they have a new anthem that touches on all the right angles. Senor Roar has outdone himself with “Pop That” on Uprise Records. Blending interesting aspect of old school vibes and modern trap together, Senor Roar his the bulls-eye with this one.
Koinu – Gainax Bounce
Coming off fresh from his interview with RaverRafting, Koinu has dropped yet another original. This tune is a gem, combining live instrumentation, almost-jazzy horns, and throw-down bass-trap sounds that hit the spot. Koinu seems like hes good at juggling dynamic sounds and finds ways to make them work. The bridge almost has a 1970’s detective vibe about it, with the intro and outro having an early hip-hop theme..pretty cool!
G-REX X Tuslo X WILLY P – Boardwalk
G-REX, Tuslo and WILLY P’s single has to been one of the trippiest on the list. “Boardwalk” tramples on such saying like “sticking to one tempo” or “it has to sound this way.” These three go harder than hard and know no rules when it comes up ground-shaking, massive trap bangers.
Bryson Price – Father Of Lies feat. Matt Chandler, Lecrae & Blake Chilton
Bryson Price new track embraces everything that dubstep is suppose to be: actually cool sounds, a dope theme, heavy bass, and a vibe that makes you want to get your wobble on. “Father Of Lies feat. Matt Chandler, Lecrae & Blake Chilton” contains this and more. Bryson Price new tunes seems to be getting quite better with every passing release.
Lektrique – Dark Matter Ft. Panther
“Dark Matter Ft. Panther” combines a sick rap voice and dark, gothic style dubstep together, creating this club trap hybrid that would go hard during any set. Lektrique has particularly sick releases featured on Kannibalen Records. “Dark Matter Ft. Panther” is for fans of Excision, BTSM, Aero Chord, and bass music in general.
Trivecta – Into The Limelight (feat. Danyka Nadeau)
Trivecta’s “Into The Limelight (feat. Danyka Nadeau)” closes this playlist on a more emotional note. The tune absolutely goes big, but with a more nostalgic and dramatic vibe. This is a type of song that is at the core of Monstercat releases – it’s nice to see good versions of the sound being put out. Florida-based Trivecta is just getting started in 2016, expect more HQ production value out of him soon.
