This week’s Powerful Picks brings forth jersey club, dubstep, and electro, while all packing heavy bass. There’s also a special release from Party Thieves to kick off Flosstradamus’s new label Hi Def Youth. Turn up your speakers and check out the playlist below.
Party Thieves – BADD
Hi Def Youth’s first release is Party Thieves’ “Undrafted” EP available May 13th. The EP includes four songs consisting of three heavy-hitting bangers and an intro dedicated to his nephew Jon. “BADD” is the first release off the EP and is the perfect trap anthem to represent Flosstradamus’s new label.
GTA – Red Lips [4B Rebirth]
4B has been blowing up in the scene lately and is back again with another huge remix. This time, he flipped Skrillex’s huge remix of “Red Lips” and turned it into an awesome jersey club track. You can also find samples from his older tracks throughout this one.
SLUMBERJACK – Open Fire (feat. Daniel Johns)
SLUMBERJACK keep its sexy, but this tune had too much weight on it for it to be fully classified as a chill track. “Open Fire (feat. Daniel Johns)” is just awesome, a comfortable tempo and fantastic sound design pair with a fluid keyboard melody and well-fitting vocals. SLUMBERJACK aren’t going anywhere.
KANDY – Non Stop ft. Ragga Twins
The Ragga Twins are probably the most recognizable voices in the reggae EDM scene. They paired up with KANDY to bring us another massive dubstep hit. “Non Stop” will have you feeling the island vibes as you get ready to rage to the drop.
TastyTreat – My Crew Ft. Malcolm Anthony
TastyTreat gets pretty sweet as well. “My Crew” is a dark hip-hop track that will take you by surprise when the buildup shows up and brings you to the drop. Malcolm Anthony helps set the Buygore feel, with his well known vocals and lyric flow.
Max Styler – Show U How (feat. KARRA)
Dim Mak has been putting out hit after hit lately and “Show U How” is definitely one of them. KARRA’s vocals helps bring forth the power of Max Styler’s productions, as the choppy synths and percussions hit you. This track is definitely a unique one, as it combines different genres together.
Kai Wachi – RI$E (Original Mix)
RI$E is another bass hit from the heavy home of KANNIBALEN Records. Kai Wachi brings a huge amount of boom with this track as well as some of the grimiest sounds. This filthy record is definitely one for the bass heads and dirty dubstep lovers.
Mr. Carmack – Pay For What (Alexander Lewis Trombone Flip)
Mr. Carmack recently put out a 42 track LP before disappearing off SoundCloud. His account is looking rather bare now for someone with over 250,000 followers. Alexander Lewis seemed to bring one track back with his brassy flip of “Pay For What” though and brought fire with it. This remix, or trombone flip, as he calls it, will definitely take you by surprise.
BIGGS & First Gift – Cardio Anthem
“Cardio Anthem” is a fast-paced track that will take you on a journey as it constantly switches around. This track brought together the perfect team to collab and get your heart racing. The record is big enough to be dropped on the main stage, and versatile enough to get played out at any underground rave.
