Unlimited Gravity – She’s Gonna Get Yuh
Earlier this year Unlimited Gravity released his Slosh Mode EP on Gravitas recordings, and this week he followed that up with the high energy trap banger “She’s Gonna Get Yuh”. Unsettling piano and vocals lead into an ever-changing drop that keeps good momentum by mixing 808s and brass stabs with a variety of grimy, yet minimalist basses that keep the listener on their feet at all times.
Herobust – Dirty Work (Barley Alive Remix)
With his Herobust flip Barley alive explores the sounds of future bass, a genre somewhat out of his norm. The short three minute song is almost like one drop split into three distinct drops; halfway through the producer returns to his normal heaviness with an out the blue hybrid trap change up, before returning to his fluffy future bass melodies.
Rawtek – HOUSE OF ZULU
Rawtek has been in the game for a while and are finally getting they recognition the deserve. Releasing their second Good Enuff Records release that is very much true to their roots. Rawtek has always been about the jungle vibes, and “HOUSE OF ZULU” has plenty of it. Check out their previous Good Enuff release here.
PROKO – Art Of War
In a song that perfectly captures the madness of war, PROKO unleashed a heavy load of distorted basses and heavy 808s. The stage is set with unsettling atmosphere, wonky synths, and drum breaks before blowing the listener away with a constant barrage of crazy noises that have such weird rhythm that you are left with no choice but to move your body in someway to the alien sounds.
1000volts – Bitch I’m Lit
Hip-hop artist Redman joins forces with Jayceeoh once more for another anthem under their collab project 1000volts. In this declarative track the duo takes somewhat overused lyrics and techniques to create a fresh banger that will go off hard with any crowd ready to party.
Element – Dimensions
There’s so much future bass right now that it’s easy to tell who is just ok and who is the cream of the crop. “Dimensions” by Element is one of those songs that proves this dude is up in the ranks, providing quality similar to KRNE, Stelouse, Whethen, and more. “Dimensions” get more than epic as the tune progresses and is a tune you need to hear.
AwolfNation – Run (Kill The Noise Remix)
In perhaps one of the best remixes Kill The Noise has ever done the producer flips Awolfnation into a crazy ominous trap track. While the drops might sound somewhat typical they are super clean and filled with interesting textures and sounds to keep things spice. that being said, the best thing about this song is the atmosphere in the buildups. Tons of cool percussion and foley sounds mix with swelling guitar riffs and creepy vocals to gracefully lead the listeners ear towards the song’s heavy 808s and vocal chops.
Nocturnal Status & Deez – Back On That BS
After wowing Great North Festival just a couple weeks ago Nocturnal Status & Deez finally released their much anticipated collab “Back On That BS”. This song is the DEFINITION of grime, assaulting the listener with pitch bent basses and spooky atmospheres. The tune continues to develop overtime. giving the listener three distinct drops while still staying true to its dark themes.
Milkshake – Forever
Straight out of KANDY Collective, “Forever” is the one of the first releases to be dished out by the collective that is an extension of the artist KANDY. “Forever” is a smooth ride but then gets epic with is future bass drop. Milkshake makes the drum work even more interesting on the second drop, ensuring this one’s a keeper.
KANDY & Callie Reiff – Jawbreaker
Fools Gold Records continues to get more exploratory with “Jawbreaker”. Their A&R spectrum is clearly expanding, now including songs from none other than the banger master KANDY and his collaborating partner Callie Reiff. Clearly a match made in heaven. “Jawbreaker’s” biggest highlight it toward the end, when it takes a dark, creepy, eery tune that gets down right trippy. Yes.
FLÜME ft. Kåi – NEV3R B? LiiKe Y0ü (Downlow’d Remix)
Downlow’d is one of those remixers who is hot; plain and simple. “NEV3R B? LiiKe Y0ü (Downlow’d Remix)” tackles future house and super vibrant, energetic styles. Downlow’d has tons of hit remixes under his belt, 2016 will without a doubt display more of his unique talent.
Apashe – Take Off Feat. Cherry Lena
You can already tell “Take Off Feat. Cherry Lena” has strapped you in to go on one banger of a ride, from the first 4-8 counts. Apashe is basically a house hold name now, certainly in the realm of hot new bass artists people can’t stop talking about. “Take Off Feat. Cherry Lena” drop is what takes you there with this one, featuring industrial, metallic type sounds in the drop and the perfect balance of natural and sample vocals.
Myro – Playa (Truth Remix)
We’ll finish things off with the latest from deep dubstep master Truth, who did a remix of Myro for Disciple records. The tune is the perfect mix of deep wobbles, grimy neuro-basses, and organic instruments like guitar and horns, filling the listener with dread, discomfort, but also the irresistible need to groove hard. Truth knows what he likes and he does it well, and we’ll always be looking out for what he does next.
