From disco to electro and everything in-between. This week has proven to contain another set of beastly tracks worth tuning into. East & Young’s simplicity and poppiness truly struck a chord for me, while Royals Refix and Mat Zo’s original caught me off guard in the best ways possible. Peep all the greatness below.
Fall Out Boy – Centuries (Gazzo Remix)
Gazzo’s melodically screechy remix of Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries” will have you thinking about emo from an electrified angle. The remix highlights those intense Patrick Stump vocals and completely brings the track into an EDM sphere – highly creative all-around.
East & Young – Horizon
If your a fan of Cash Cash or Otto Knows’ “Million Voices” you will love this track. East & Young inject serious melody and rhythm into the original making it a nostalgic electro-anthem perfect for capturing life moments.
Paradise & Grace – Out Of My Head
Paradise and Grace put an interesting twist on deep house with “Out Of My Head.” The single mixes up traditional tempos and vibes with it’s innovative nature, but still maintains the classic deep house bass melody.
Tegan and Sara – So Jealous (Royal Refix)
Royal is apart of a new generation of DJs who aren’t bound to one or few genres, a trait that’s garunteed to pay off in the long run. Royal’s latest refix blends elements of future bass with unrecognizable, undefinable greatness.
Some Kinda Wonderful – Reverse (Elk Road Remix)
Alternative rock group Some Kinda Wonderful receives a very chill, very smooth remix from the likes of Elk Road. The mystical effects blended with the southern-style sounding guitars makes the remix outstanding.
Mat Zo – Giving It All Up
Mat Zo dishes out some serious disco flavor with “Giving It All Up.” A Daft Punk sounding, very poppy original that is pure ear candy from start to finish.
Dave Silcox – Shut It Down
David Silcox’s “Shut It Down” is in a lot of ways similar to Paradise and Grace’s work above. It contains the remnants of deep house but is still very much its own thing. With simplicity and grace “Shut It Down” is an end-of-year gift for all.
Bassnectar – So Butterfly (Beats Antique Remix Ft. Sorne)
Beats Antique deliver an incredibly fresh remix of Bassnectar’s “So Butterfly.” Featuring Sorne, the remix actually features many more natural sounds than a typical electronic remix, but still feels like a single that fits into the bass-culture scene.
Cazzette – Blind Heart (Prince Fox Remix)
Prince Fox is one artist everyone is dying to see. “Blind Heart (Price Fox Remix)” is another example why. His radical and relatable way of approaching remixes and originals has the internet always begging for more.
