Attention producers: if you want the chance to earn a release on Spotify, be awarded top-of-the-line production gear and be leapt into stardom, now is your chance. Pretty Lights just announced today a remix contest for his single “Around the Block” ft. Talib Kweli off his stellar summer album ‘A Color Map of the Sun’. Partnering with Indaba Music, participants are given “stems”, or individual pieces, of “Around the Block” to create their remix, having to use at least one stem in the remix to qualify.
The submission period starts now and lasts until September 19. From then, voting will take place until October 3rd, with the winner announced on October 17th. The only rules are that you cannot include material you don’t have the legal right to exploit and cannot post it on another website or sell it if it includes copyrighted material you do not own. Other than that, producers can go crazy with this one. This is a great opportunity to remix a legend and get your name immortalized.
