Pretty Lights aka Derek Vincent Smith is what really got me hooked on electronic dance music and Pretty Lights will always be one of my favorite acts to catch. Once you get more in-tune with the scene you really appreciate artists like Pretty Lights, Bassnectar and Kaskade who mainly play nothing but original work during their sets.
This new single from Pretty Lights is a mellow-electro-hip-hop-soul track that takes a bunch of different samples off of old vinyls. I’ll never forget during his two night set in Atlanta last year when he said, “I love that hard shit, but I love the smooth and creamy shit too.”
