Today, the American alternative-rock legends Primus released the deluxe-edition of their latest album “Sailing the Seas of Cheese“, and along with it we got a banging Bassnectar remix of their track “Here Come the Bastards”. The track is similar to the original, but as it builds, Bassnectar’s elements shine through. He has an uncanny way of keeping remixes sounding true to the original but with a signature Bassnectar flare.
I’ve been a fan since I was a kid, watching these weirdos play a massive role in redefining leftfield alternative music. – Lorin Ashton via Bassnectar.net
The song has an awesome rock flare that is true to Primus, but Bassnectar implements some heavy bass and screeching synths towards the middle of the remix. The song builds up, drops off, then builds once again for a bassface-inducing drop that is sure to make you rage. You can download the track off iTunes for $1.29.
