The next time you’re in the crowd at the main stage, have a look around because a big time celebrity or athlete could be right next to you.
Sure, famous people attending music festivals is nothing new; they are often spotted in the VIP sections of Coachella or Ultra Music Festival. It’s nice that they’re there, but it’s usually because they want to be in the party scene limelight rather than to truly enjoy the musical acts.
Enter St. Louis Rams starting Defensive End, Chris Long (#2 overall draft pick in 2008, 51.5 career sacks). While many NFL players take the month of June to attend weddings or hang at the beach, Long is traveling the festival circuit to see his favorite artists.
By all accounts, he seems fully emersed into festival culture. A couple weeks ago, he was in the GA crowd at Governor’s Ball, NYC.

This past week, he was at Bonaroo sporting a rave bandana that can be found on the iHeartRaves website.

Showing his love for all music, he ran into Alabama Shakes lead singer, Brittany Hayward.

Given the two $60 million contracts he’s earned in his career, Long certainly could have opted for the $1500 Uber helicopter ride into Bonnaroo (intended for the “one percenters”). Instead, he arrived on site in an RV.
It’s great to see people like Chris Long truly embrace the festival scene and help shed further light onto how unique these experiences are.
Be sure to connect with Chris Long on his social media platforms, he’s definitely an interesting follow.
