On Saturday night, New Yorkers and East Coast revelers alike fled to the Brooklyn Navy Yard for one last dance at the industrial utopia. Teksupport did not hold back on this one, hosting a rare performance by PRYDA to give the now infamous venue a proper closing party.
While the time and effort that goes into hosting a Teksupport event never goes unnoticed, the ways of working for this one swayed slightly different, and most definitely in their favor. This past November, Eric Prydz played under his techno moniker Cirez D with Adam Beyer for a 2-night sold out series at the Navy Yard. The experience left such a massive impression on the British legend that he himself requested to play a rare PRYDA set for the venue’s final show.
Walking form Flushing Ave into the Navy Yard was bittersweet, but the opening sounds of Cristoph made it feel alright. The Prydz protégé delivered a stellar set playing chart-toppers like “Breathe” and his brand new edit of The Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition.” The crowd was aglow and buzzing from beginning to end.
The solid two hour journey flowed right into a very special and rare performance from Eric Prydz’ otherworldy alias PRYDA. The legend delivered a flawless production with a classic set, featuring all of his top notch IDs, “Pjanoo,” “Javlar” “Annexet,” and more. And of course, he hit us with some notorious laser beams. The vibes in the warehouse could not have been better nor brighter – the crowd was soaring through the atmosphere with all hands up for one last time. It’s safe to say, Brooklyn will never forget this one.
An idyllic warehouse space reminiscent of Printworks London, the Brooklyn Navy Yard has become an industrial asylum for underground music lovers through Teksupport. Some of the most memorable events to go down here were Circoloco Halloween, Solomun (All Night Long), and Cirez D X Adam Beyer. The Navy Yard’s final showing with Cristoph and PRYDA went down without a hitch, marking the end of a short but incredible era for this amazing nightlife haven.
