PRZI aka Matteo Tentori is the young Italian producer that has been tearing up the European scene since he began producing around a year ago. Although a fairly new producer, it hasn’t stopped his natural ability to create quality productions with every release. He’s already been supported by acts like Sidney Samson, Juicy M, and Nicky Romero. So far, the majority of his releases are in the house/big room realm, however that hasn’t stopped him from experimenting with an ever evolving sound. PRZI also performs on main stage every year at Italy’s well known, Nameless Festival. The festival has become a premiere festival in Italy and attracts some of the biggest acts in the industry.
PRZI’s latest release comes with fellow Italian producer, SLVR. The two make for the perfect combination on “Open Road” and fuse their production ideas to create a one of a kind track. Packed with upbeat synths and a soothing melody, the two Italians create a banger of a track with the help of Jon Moodie. The New York singer is the perfect fit for the track as his voice adds energy and power to the production. RaverRafting was able to talk with PRZI about his latest release, work with SLVR and Jon Moodie, and performances at Nameless Festival. Be sure to check out our exclusive interview below!
How’s it been releasing content on Nameless Records?
PRZI: Nameless Records was a very important goal for me so I am very proud and happy. Introducing myself in the chain of Universal Music is like a dream come true.
You perform on the MainStage at Nameless Music Festival each year, what’s that like?
PRZI: Since I was a kid, my only dream was to become a great DJ, and the Main Stage of Nameless Music Festival is part of my dream come true. I still remember playing on my small console in my room, where I imagined a crowd that listened to the music I produced and it turned out to be true! The people at Nameless are fantastic, always pumped; always just wanting to dance and they all clearly have a huge passion for music. I hope I get to keep on having the privilege of playing there in the future.
Tell me a little bit about your recent release “Open Road”, what was your favorite part about producing it?
PRZI: Open Road is a very melodic track that blends the classic piano with electronic music. The track doesn’t have consistent themes and genres and that’s what I love most about it. My favorite part of the production process was creating the second build up, where the vocals repeat the refrain of the song. It was really fun creating the build, where the piano and the synths keep on growing, until they explode all together on the second drop. Arranging the pianos was an integral and important part of the track as they determine the emotion of the tune. The notes have been produced directly for maximum effect.
What was it like to collaborate with SLVR and Jon Moodie?
PRZI: Jon Moodie is a great singer, his tone of voice is something phenomenal, and I literally adore his pronunciation, so it was a great honor to work with him. SLVR and I grew up together, production-wise, as we both started producing around a year ago. We share similar ideas about music, so working with him happened spontaneously because we just get on really well and have a laugh. It worked out really well so I’m sure in the future we will do other productions together.
Do you aim for a particular sound when you produce or is your sound constantly evolving?
PRZI: I began producing a year ago, so I don’t think I have fully developed a sound yet that I can call totally mine. In fact, my method of production is still evolving continuously. I think it’s my songs that have more of a recognizable metric style and the arrangements of my tracks that are distinguishable, rather than a particular sound.
Is there anywhere in the world you really want to perform at?
PRZI: My biggest goal is to play at all the biggest festivals around the world! If I had to pick one in particular it would be to play at Ultra Music Festival.
Are they any artists you look to for inspiration?
PRZI: I have a lot of favorite artists – I don’t stick completely to someone; at the moment I’m really into TheFatRat as I love their melodies, but Kill The Noise inspires me when I want to put something harder in my productions. I would like one day to reach the levels they currently have.
What does the future hold for PRZI in terms of production and touring?
PRZI: I spend a lot of time in the studio and I have several productions ready to be released, so hopefully I will be getting some of those out soon! I’m always on tour, at the moment only in Italy, but it would be great to start looking at touring overseas.
