Pure Static and Psilocyben End 2020 with First Collab ‘YOPO’

Pure Static and Psilocyben have teamed up for their first collaboration and their final release of 2020 with “YOPO”. Both hailing from Austin, Texas the two rising producers have been cutting their teeth in the local EDM scene as well as putting in the hours to build their foundational discography. Just this year we saw Pure Static’s debut EP, Incoming Transmission, where we got to hear an amalgamation of bass, techno, glitch hop, and dub. Last month he released “In The Back” where he really fleshed out his experimental touch in the bass world. Psilocyben has been in our mind’s eye with single releases like his emotive “Twin Flame”, synth dance floor heater “Dream”, and bass face inducing “Hallucinations”.

Now, rounding out 2020 on a high note, the two have come together and delivered on their new single “YOPO”. We’re immediately surrounded with mysterious growls that slowly circle us before the snap of the high hat draws us in further. We find ourselves climbing up the hill to get a sense of where we are before dropping down a landslide of gritty synths, thumping bass, and just straight Wakaan-level of wobbles. They give us a moment to catch our breath and regain our vision before throwing us back into the a dark realm of space bass and nasty melodies. While YOPO is known as a psychedelic drug, we feel like this track fulfills our curiosity of the experience in the best of ways.
