Brainfeeder, the same label that brings you artists such as Flying Lotus, recently let go the newest release from upcoming artist Ras G. This label, known for its experimental, multi-genre artists, found a perfect fit with Ras G. Once listening to the artists latest release, “G Spot Connection”, you’ll perhaps find yourself confused. This is not an “EDM” song by any means; instead, its very experimental, downtempo and may be more aptly described as “IDM”, or intelligent dance music.
“G Spot Connection” contains a hodge-podge of assorted sampling, echoing percussion, a melodramatic melody and the use of a clock ticking for the entire song to add even more to this already very experimental song. However, fans of more downtempo artists may find themselves growing to this song the more they listen. Its very different from the average electronic artist, and honestly is a bit of a fresh break from heavy bass and layers of synth.
