Co-founders Samantha Moyo, and Nico Theommes, have launched an interesting initiative in London, England that definitely “turns clubbing on its head”. ‘Morning Glory‘ is a “morning dance experience” (as they call it in an interview with Huffington Post) which essentially is a drug and alcohol-free rave that takes place on a Wednesday morning each month from 6:30am to 10:30am.
Instead of your usual crowd of club-goers, this pre-work event is intended for a wide range of patrons, and strives to offer a unique, and contemporary alternative to hitting the gym before starting a busy workday. Massages, yoga, hula – hooping, superfood smoothies, and coffee are also available in the venue, with local DJs spinning all the dance music tunes that one would expect to hear on a weekend night out. Acknowledging that people might have a difficult time letting loose in the morning before heading to work, a team of incognito dancers is present to help get the place going, and to maintain the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
Receiving a fairly positive response so far, ‘Morning Glory’ has plans to expand throughout the U.K, and may even be brought across the pond to New York City in the future. This is definitely a creative and intriguing concept, which strives to leave attendees feeling inspired, and full of good vibes which they can then bring back to their workplace.
