In two weeks eclectic producer Varien touches down in NYC to take part in our RaverRafting Meetup prior to his show with Fox Stevens and Feint at Webster Hall. As part of the VIP experience you will be able to talk to and learn about Varien and his peer’s rise to success during a round-table panel, and a secret dinner after the show. Don’t miss out on a chance to personally interact with one of the most creative and inspired producers in the game.
It’s hard to attach a genre to Varien these days, since he has produced in nearly every style one can imagine, while incorporating influence from seemingly endless genres outside of electronic music. One constant influence for the producer is cinema and orchestral music, which shows in the pure scale of his tracks, and in the deep emotion they inspire.
2016 was a big year for Varien fans, who saw the producer release two completely distinct EPs, several singles and remixes, as well as am original orchestral album under his birth name. “My Prayers Have Become Ghosts”, the producer’s newest release, is a dark and creepy EP that was released right before Halloween. It features lots of ominous vocals, chilling atmospheres, and most importantly, tons of heavy bass. The EP flows seamlessly from its organ driven intro, to the stripped back, choir driven outro, almost telling a story arch through a diverse pallet of sounds.
When Varien first released on Monstercat during its early days no one could have predicted the scope of diversity his career would hold. On top of his original productions he has also composed for film and tv (Furious 7, The Walking Dead), started a side project inspired by anime, and taught a new generation of producers to achieve their dreams through a series of incredibly knowledgeable classes.
