‘Elephant’ is a melting pot of beautiful melodies and vocals drafted along what sounds to be a trap influenced dubstep original from R/D. The California native is known for deviating away from the norm and creating bass sounds that are always a bit deeper, a bit more soothing…more aesthetically pleasing in every form. He outdid himself on this one, in my humble opinion. As our taste develops, some of us may branch away from dubstep as our personal “go-to” however, a graceful focus on melody like this could be just enough to bring any one of us back.
Originally premiered on Dubstep.net, ‘Elephant quickly moved into the top 10 charts and paced it’s way to 15k listens within just one day. Before you hark on the term “dubstrap”, please know that it is just a shot at consoling the sound into one word for the readers rather than creating my own snarky sub-genre name.
