Over the past year, a young Irish producer that goes by the name Rebuke came into the dance music sphere and immediately started making waves. The quickly rising producer initially blessed listeners with his breakthrough hit, “Along Came Polly,” via Hot Creations and is now back with a paramount debut, Jump Ship EP, on the notable Dirtybird Records.
The two-track EP makes a splash with the title track, “Jump Ship.” Upon the press of play, you’re drown with crisp percussion, immersed with tribal drumming, and put in a blissful, dizzy state from the rolling bassline. “Jump Ship” is then followed by “The Pipe,” a low-end groove centric driven original that’ll hit you like a surge of waves with its flute-like synth bursts and streamline of drums.
The overall EP breaks away from the norm. Rebuke’s unique take on tech house is quite refreshing and seems to perfectly compliment the Dirtybird sound. Jump Ship feels like diving into the unknown and ending up on a pretty rad island party, and we’re diggin’ it. This EP is worth the listen!
