Isabelle Rezazadeh is a name you may or may not have heard – but it’s hard to talk about the current state of electronic music without hearing about her interplanetary alter ego, REZZ. While Rezz only burst onto the scene a few years ago (she first started learning Ableton in November 2013), the persona has propelled Rezazadeh from Electric Forest to Ultra China, EDC Las Vegas, and hundreds of cities in between.
Now, REZZ will touch down in Washington DC to take over Echostage alongside Haywyre and Drezo for stop #12 on her 40+ city world tour. While the tour winds around from NYC to Australia, there’s nothing quite like a night of dancing in The District -particularly at Echostage, dubbed the #1 Club in the USA by DJ Mag in 2017.
Her music blurs the line between industrial techno, house, and bass music. It’s dark, heavy, hypnotic, and a sound that is uniquely her own. Rhythms and bass lines are cut and produced with surgical precision resulting in tracks that are undeniably punchy.
As a performer, Rezz’s live shows turn her tracks into a sensory, all encompassing experience. Visuals that are equal parts captivating and sedative flow against her signature LED goggles – a secret weapon with the power to draw even the largest of festival crowds in to her sets and on to the dark side.
Over the past years, Rezz has built herself a following comparable to that of legends like her mentor Deadmau5 (and dare we say, Bassnectar?) with fans frequently referring to themselves as “The Cult Of Rezz,” and Rezazadeh as “Space Mom.” The cult mentality fits right in line with the Rezz’s particular flavor of music – haunting, addictive, and undeniably captivating. If Rezz has us drinking her Kool-Aid – we’ll take seconds, please.
